Happy New Month everyone!
I just wanted to dedicate one post to the few TV shows I’ve started in the past month and provide some links to them as well (considering I really hate it when I get told to check something out and get left to fend for myself! – so rude!). Typically, I troll TV guide and various american television sites using my free VPN plug-in, in search of the new shows for the season and the ones I want to start. Naturally I can’t watch them all at once, so I’ve started four now and will discuss these to begin with. Before I delve in, if you want to know what VPN I use (it enables you to watch shows on ABC, CWtv and all other American TV websites if you’re in a different country – and it actually does this for a lot of other countries including the UK) like the post and leave a comment with your email address, and I’ll send this out to you within 24 hours.
I’m going to start with my favourite one, and it surprised me so I’m sure you’ll be well shocked.
**SHADES OF BLUE : Starring – Jennifer Lopez and Ray Liotta
I know what you’re thinking – J-Lo’s acting isn’t that great right? I know, that’s what I thought. But this show has proved to me that perfecting your craft is a possibility. She has really brought her A-game on this one, and I have to say – her supporting cast isn’t bad either. The show is ‘another cop show’, but with a twist – she’s forced to become an FBI informant in a war against dirty cops on her close knit team after she is found to be one herself. Considering she has a young daughter, Christina, she was targeted by the Feds and told to turn on her mentor and closest friend, Wozniack, who is in charge of their corrupt crew. It is a great story that provokes thought about morality, loyalty and the lengths people would go to for family. Four episodes have been released thus far, and they can be found here:

It is definitely worth checking out! I have learned one valuable thing actually – How to cheat a polygraph! Interesting. Not that I ever would, but hey, its a fun fact!
**REAL HOUSEWIVES OF POTOMAC : Starring a bunch of rich women from Potomac, Maryland (please do not confuse this with the more popular town of Potomac, Virginia. These women will kill you)
RHOP is the new show that forms part of the Real Housewives series owned by BravoTV. It has made hit shows in cities such as Orange County, New York City, Atlanta, Beverly Hills, New Jersey, Miami, DC and Dallas
Disclaimer : This is not a serious television show, and it won’t teach you very much. (LOL). However, it will make you laugh, and I promise that people don’t punch each other in the face on this show (unlike some others I have watched). It focuses on high brow society women who do not take too kindly to those who are not as wealthy, classy or well mannered as they consider themselves to be. There is extensive shade throwing, with undertones of the identity struggle (in relation to skin colour, wealth, heritage, etc) and the difficulties of maintaining friendship.
The three episodes that have been released can be found here:

My suggestion, try ten minutes of the first episode and if you still aren’t amused, move on swiftly.
**KOCKTAILS WITH KHLOE : Starring Khloe Kardashian and a weekly mix of her celebrity friends!
Not another Kardashian show right? I think wrong! If any Kardashian is down to earth and a bit of fun, its definitely Khloe, and on this show, her personality shines through. Koctails with Khloe is pretty much a late night reality talk show where Ko-ko and her guests play a host of games, talk about their personal lives, and drink tailor made cocktails created by an ex master chef competitor, Sharone Hackman. So far, Khloe has had Snoop Dogg, Tyga, Scott Disick, Maleeka, Morgan (Rich kids of beverly hills), Kendall, and a few other fun and flirty guests. While it isn’t the most organized talk show I’ve seen (considering they talk over one another the entire time, lol) the set is gorgeous, so if you’re into interior design, check it out! Also, it really does prompt guests to share more of themselves than they can via the tabloids or in regular interviews.
I tend to watch this show on FYI directly because its never on project free tv when I WANT to watch it, so drop me a comment if you want my secret VPN tip, and you can watch it there as well! The alternative is this link here:

The show is only a couple of episodes in, so check it out and see what you think!
**AN AFRICAN CITY : Starring Maame Yaa Boafo, Nana Mensah, Maame Adjei, Marie Humbert
and Esosa E.
This is an interesting one – An African City is a Ghanaian television series based loosely on Sex and the City, but developed in the African Context. Created by Nicole Amarteifio, this show made waves in its first season which is still free on Youtube! It follows the lives of 5 friends who are returnees to Ghana from the US, and tells of the struggles they face as they settle into their home country. It focuses on love and dating, as well as adjusting to expectations and situations that they have not had to endure for many years! To show you just how well the show is actually doing, season two premiered two weeks ago, and I have had to pay to watch the entire season on vhx! – Yeah, I paid. I love it that much! I think every African female would appreciate some of their struggles, and find some a bit exaggerated – but hey it makes for great television. For none africans, this may be an interesting take on life in Ghana – but it is by no means exhaustive.
Season one can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/user/AnAfricanCity
For season 2, please use this link and buy a subscription! The show is really interesting and it could use your finances to develop further. The season costs about $19.99 – https://anafricancity.vhx.tv/
I hope you find this blog post useful! Please send me feedback on any of the shows I have shared, or any shows you think I should check out and share with the readers! I would love to hear from you!
Love,
